I always knew I wanted to be a musician. The ability to convey, relate and deeply understand a truly human feeling, bringing back lost memories, leaving you in goosebumps, through a few carefully placed words and chords has always amazed me. It’s real magic.

Born and raised in the small town of Nantwich in Cheshire (UK). From the age of 13 I took to the stage at local open mic night’s where I found an amazing community of friendly, passionate and supportive musicians. I remember going to every single one that me and my Dad could possibly find. Sometimes 2 to 3 a week. We did this for quite some time whilst I polished up a set list of popular covers and reassured confidence within myself. A few of the local open mic night’s were run by the same guy. Al Dean. He was in a trio band and regularly did shows around the North-West. Over time we became good friends and he offered me spots to play during his breaks at some of his own shows, as another opportunity to play and spread my name. I took this opportunity and travelled around the North-West playing multiple venues until I got an offer of my own.

To cut a long story short, from here I worked with multiple agencies over the years, growing a reputation whilst doing 7 to 8 gigs a week in the hottest cities in the UK. I worked relentlessly from celeb functions to headlining festivals, playing at peoples weddings all over the UK and overseas. Whilst this was incredible, I still felt like something was missing. I had forgotten about a huge ongoing passion of my own.. songwriting.

From as early as I can remember I always wanted to create music and write my ideas of my own. To produce a song. So I set some time aside, sat myself down and just wrote. I had so many ideas that had built up but didn’t know what to do with them, I couldn’t quite find a creative sound I liked too, and felt a little lost when it came to properly getting them down on a computer. I had previously worked in a studio, with another guy who specialised in forensic audio analysing as part of a self sourced work experience task in high-school. That profession in itself is complex, working with complicated tools and plugins so I already had some knowledge of programs etc.. Through some friends I found another local contact who owned a studio and had worked with big names such as Robbie Williams, Lana Del Ray, Michael Buble´and had songs that were charting at the time. I thought this was a great chance to get a step closer to my sound and maybe learn a few things along the way. So I booked in a few days.

I absolutely fell in love with the process of making music. Watching these ideas I had, come from bedroom ideas and turn into solid songs someone would find themselves listening to. After spending around a week in the studio I had 2 finished songs. I had learnt so much about the process of recording a song and various different production techniques but unfortunately I wasn’t totally confident in the creative direction of the songs that came out. To no-one’s fault really, but my own.

With recording software and basic equipment becoming more accessible and affordable at the time, I made a decision. Like I said before, I had a fairly good understanding of recording earlier and now I was getting more confident in own ability, after a few days in a professional studio working environment. After a few weeks of youtube tutorials and getting used to virtual instruments on recording programs, I decided to invest in my own ‘bedroom’ set up. Just a cheap £100 mic of eBay, sound card and cables to connect it all up. I made some youtube covers whilst getting used to the programs. But once I had, I was ready to start recording and producing my own music. I took 3 of my favourite songs I had written and started to record. I spent about 3 days on each one. fully produced with drums and other instruments. It wasn’t anything special but It felt right and a step again in the right direction. The EP though, still sounded bit lost and the songs weren’t really stand out or didn’t come together. It had actually been a while since I had written anything, since I’de been so busy learning new things, including new writing methods. So once again, I took pen to paper and started to write. And that's when I wrote ‘Just You and I’. My first structured love song that actually sounded like ‘me’. It even had my first guitar solo in. Straight away I recorded it, put it on the EP and it felt whole. it was the leading track giving the EP a meaning. So I even called the EP ‘Just You and I’. I was so happy with how that song came out and even to today, still hold a lot of nostalgia for it. I printed some CD’s which sold out after just a few shows, then printed some more.

I continued gigging and started including my own songs in the sets. Then one night at a hotel, a CEO of a record label who had travelled there for a meeting. I had no idea at the time. What’s funny is that all of the places I had gigged over the UK looking for an opportunity like this, this was in my hometown. I did my set as usual and afterwards he introduced himself and we talked. He said that he, himself produces music and would like to get me on board doing some studio work as a guitarist for some of his tracks. I jumped at the opportunity and after a few message exchanges we arranged some work together. He specialised in acoustic covers and had songs with millions of plays worldwide. We started working and I played guitar for some acoustic tracks he was releasing, whilst chatting over coffee and getting to know each other. We talked about my own career in music and my own passion to want to produce and release. I think he saw how dedicated I was to music and offered me the opportunity to start to release my own music and grow my online presence. So we did. This is where I recorded my first acoustic cover of ‘September’ by Earth Wind and Fire. I learnt a whole tonne of new things which blew my mind from production, to recording with super high end equipment. Whilst doing this, through the next couple of covers I demonstrated my own knowledge in production and I was offered a Telefunken AK-47 (a high end mic) to try and record my own music at home. I invested in a better sound card and improved my set up. And it worked.

I found a huge passion in recording and producing my own acoustic covers which was getting me new followers and also income on the side which I invested all into new studio equipment. Whilst making contacts and meeting amazing people. Today I’m celebrating over 20 million global streams on my acoustic vol.1 album with songs scoring editorial playlist spots, as well as being featured on Love Island UK.

Just through talking, eventually the topic of songwriting cropped up. We actually had a song writing day together which is where I slipped him a copy of my original EP. From here I learnt a lot about the world of original music and planned on digging myself deep into it but knew I had a lot of work to do. I locked myself away for a few months and wrote every single day staying up some days till 3am and starting again the next morning. It was tough but I’m happy I did it as again, I learnt so much. It put me in a position of having a catalog of demos which led me to collaborating on a project with a pretty big name in the industry. And it wasn’t my own project, which made me confident in my own writing.

Many songs later I picked out a few for myself and signed my first record deal for my own original songs to be released. I’ve recently taken some of my songs to Kore Studios in London as I’m now venturing into the world of releasing original music. I’m taking the same dedication I put into my live work and covers into this and I can not wait for you to hear it. My first song ‘Do It Right’ has just been released with an acoustic version and is available to stream worldwide now.
